A Source for Healing and Wellness

Welcome to Tiffany Fisher PhD, LMT’s blog Full Bloom Healing Arts! I’m Tiffany, and I’m excited to launch this blog as a part of my massage and healing arts practice. Here you’ll find information and inspiration to help you on your journey of health and well-being.

I am a licensed massage therapist (MA#100860) and Reiki Master Practitioner of the Usui lineage with a private practice in Gainesville, Florida (MM#45042), and I am a former public school special education teacher with a PhD in special education. I have always been drawn to service oriented fields and continue to strive to find new avenues of being a source of help to others in all of my imperfect stumbling through a challenging world.

There are many blogs and podcasts already in which so much useful healing and wellness information exists. My purpose is to bring information that I have found helpful in my own journey by sharing my personal experience, as well as address topics and issues that my clients or people in community have called to my attention. I have found that I can hear information from multiple sources without much impact and then there is a moment when something clicks because I resonate so deeply with the person sharing it.

All of us have unique backgrounds, and yet so many of us struggle with very similar things. My intention is to be courageously vulnerable about my experience (thank you Brené Brown for your work and for us having this language), and to clearly state when I have found something useful in which I am not an expert- and to point you to the experts in this area.

I have wanted to start writing and sharing for a very long time. I bought a new notebook to write ideas in, I scoured the internet on how to structure a blog and write the first post, I talked to close friends about this deep calling to share… And yet every time I started to write this first page I got stuck. I am not following the suggested first post format by the way.

As with many things I life, I felt real momentum when I threw out the playbook and decided to follow my instinct. I had been stuck, worried that I couldn’t tell you today all of the topics I would cover and vow to stay within a specific niche. I can tell you what I know- I will cover topics related to physical, mental, and emotional well-being, I will likely encourage you to be an advocate for yourself and discuss barriers I have experienced in my own self-advocacy. To get started I had to accept that this blog will continue to evolve, much like myself. As Pema Chödrön writes, start where you are!

My writing will have the lens of the author, as I cannot write from a perspective I have not experienced. I am a white female American. I am many years sober after struggling with alcohol addiction, in recovery from disordered eating, have battled life-long complex PTSD and still need many resources to be the best version of myself. The name Full Bloom Healing came from a conversation I had with my therapist a few years ago when she remarked I was in “full bloom” as I turned 40. I felt that as very true when she said it. The past 20 years for me has been a remarkable adventure of healing, awareness, growth, and resilience.

I would love to build a community of humans who are curious and courageous. I would love to hear from you! Please leave a comment to introduce yourself and let me know what topics you are most interested in. Thank you for joining me on this journey!

With love,

Tiffany
